ADDINGTON (GREAT), a parish in the hundred of HUXLOE, county of NORTHAMPTON, 4 miles (S. W.) from Thrapston, containing 256 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £10. 12. 8., and in the patronage of the Rev. James Tyley. The church is dedicated to All Saints. This parish communicates with the North Sea, through the Northampton canal and the river Nen, the former of which here divides into two branches.
