ADVENT, or ST-ADVEN, a parish in the hundred
of LESNEWTH, county of CORNWALL, 1 mile (S.) from
Camelford, containing 229 inhabitants. The living is a
perpetual curacy, consolidated with the rectory of Lanteglos,
in the archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of
Exeter. The river Camel separates the two "parishes.
A copper mine is worked here, but it is not very productive.
