APETHORPE, a parish in the hundred of WILLYBROOK, county of NORTHAMPTON, 4 miles (S. W. by W.) from Wansford, containing 257 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Prebendary of Nassington, and in the patronage of the Vicar of Nassington. The church, dedicated to St. Leonard, contains a sumptuous monument to the memory of Sir Anthony Mildmay, Bart., and his lady.
