APPLEBY, a parish in the northern division of the
wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 7 miles (N. W. by N.) from Glandford-Bridge,
containing 534 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of
Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £10. 4., and in
the patronage of John Williamson, Esq. The church
is dedicated to St. Bartholomew.
