APPLEDORE, a parish in the hundred of BLACKBOURN, lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 6 miles (S. E. by S.) from Tenterden, containing 559 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, with the perpetual curacy of Ebony annexed, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £21, and in the patronage of the Archbishop. of Canterbury. The church, which is dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul, exhibits some portions of decorated English architecture.
