ARDWICK, a chapelry in the parish of MANCHESTER, hundred of SALFORD, county palatine of LANCASTER, 1 mile (S. E. by E.) from Manchester, containing 3545 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, lathe archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, and in the patronage of the Warden and Fellows of the Collegiate Church of Manchester. The chapel is dedicated to St. Thomas. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan AR K A R L Methodists. Owing to its proximity to Manchester, Ardwick participates extensively in the trade of that place.
