ASGARBY, a parish in the western division of the
soke of BOLINGBROKE, parts of LJNUSUY, county of
LINCOLN, 5£. miles (W. by N.) from Spilsby, containing
77 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the

peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln,
and in the patronage of the Prebendary of Asgarby
in the Cathedral Church of Lincoln. In 1667,
Henry Pell bequeathed a rent-charge of £10 for the
Instruction of poor children of Asgarby, Howell, and
Eveden, in the charity school at Ewerby.
