ASH-PRIORS, a parish forming, with those of
Bishop's Lydeard, Fitzhead, and Wiveliscombe, one of
the two unconnected portions which constitute the
western division of the hundred of KINGSBURY, county
of SOMERSET, 6 miles (N. W. by W.) from Taunton, containing
201 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy,
in the archdeaconry of Taunton, and diocese of
Bath and Wells, endowed with £200 private benefaction,
and £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of
Sir T. B. Lethbridge, Bart.
