ASHBY, a township in that part of the parish
of BOTTESFORD which is in the eastern division of the
wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of
LINCOLN, 6 miles (W. by S.) from Glandford-Bridge,
containing 288 inhabitants. In 1705, Stephen Caistor
bequeathed a house to be' used as a school-house for
the children in the township.
