ASHBY (PARVA), a parish in the hundred of GUTHLAXTON, county of LEICESTER, 3 miles (N. N. W.) from Lutterworth, containing 176 inhabitants. The living, is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated' in the king's books at £5. 7- 6., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church* is dedicated to St. Peter. Ashby Parva is in the honour of Tutbury, duchy of Lancaster, and within the jurisdiction of a court of pleas held at Tutbury every third Tuesday, for the recovery of debts under 40s.
