ASHENDON, a parish in the hundred of ASHENDON,
county of BUCKINGHAM, 65 miles (N.) from Thame,
containing 339 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese
of Lincoln, endowed with £ 8 per annum private
benefaction, and £ 600 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of the Dean and Canons of Christ Church, Oxford.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
