ASHILL, a parish in the hundred of WAYLAND, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (N. W.) from Watton, containing 579 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £19. 13. 6., and in the patronage of the Rev. B. Edwards. The church, dedicated to St. Nicholas, is chiefly in the latest style of English architecture, and has a tower built of flint. A National school was established here in 1821.
