AVINGTON, a parish in the hundred of FAWLEY, Fawley division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON, 4 miles (N. E. by E.) from Winchester, containing 195 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, rated in the king's books at £11. 11. 10., and in the patronage of the Bishop of Winchester.
