AWSWORTH, a chapelry in the parish of NUTHALL, southern division of the wapentake of BROXTOW, county of NOTTINGHAM, 7 miles (N. W. by W.) from Nottingham. The population is returned with the parish. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £600 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Rector of Nuthall.
