BARCHESTON, a parish in the Brails division of
the hundred of KINGTON, county of WARWICK, § a mile
(E. S. E.) from Shipston upon Stour, containing, with
the hamlet of Willington, 184 inhabitants. The living
is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £13.6.8.,
and in the patronage of the Rev. T. L. Snow. The
church is dedicated to St. Martin.
