BARFORD, a parish in the Warwick division of the hundred of KINGTON, county of WARWICK, 3 miles (S. by W.) from Warwick, containing 671 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Worcester, rated in the king's books at £11. 11. 0., and in the patronage of Mrs. Mills. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. A free school, in which about thirty boys and thirty girls are educated, is endowed with about £48 per annum, arising chiefly from the benefaction of John Beale, in 1672, and that of the Rev. Thomas Dugard, in 1677.
