BARMER, in the hundred of GALLOW, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (S. S. W.) from Burnhain- Westgate, containing 25 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, endowed with £ 400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Thomas Kerslake, Esq. The church, which was dedicated to All Saints, is desecrated, and Barmer is now considered extra-parochial.
