BARWICK-BASSETT, a parish in the hundred of CALNE, county of WILTS, 1\ miles (E. N. E.) from Calne, containing 162 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy with the vicarage of Calne, annexed to the Treasurership in the Cathedral Church of Salisbury, in the archdeaconry of Wilts, and diocese of Salisbury. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. Henry Webb, in 1775, endowed a school with about £ 13 per annum, for the instruction of poor children.
