county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles
(W. S. W.) from Needham-Market, containing 421 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged vicarage, in the
archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated
in the Icing's books at £8. 0. 7., and in the patronage
of G. Paske, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
Here was anciently a preceptory of the Knights Hospitallers,
the revenue of which, at the dissolution, was
£53. 10.
