BAWDESWELL, a parish in the hundred of EYNSFORD, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles (W. by S.) from Reepham, containing 590 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7, and in the patronage of Sir J. Lombe, Bart. The church is dedicated to All Saints. A school for the instruction of twelve boys has an endowment of about £10 per annum, arising from land bequeathed by John Leeds, in 1730.
