BAXTERLEY, a parish in the Atherstone division of the hundred of HEMLINGFORD, county of WARWICK, 4 miles (W. by S.) from Atherstone, containing 210 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Coventry, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £5, and in the alternate patronage of the Crown and John Boultbee, Esq. Coal and limestone are said to exit-it, but are not worked, in this parish.
