BEVERCOATES, a parish in the South-clay division of the wapentake of BASSETLAW, county of NOTTINGHAM, 2 miles (W.N.W.) from Tuxford, containing 48 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, united to that of West Markham, in the archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York. The church, now desecrated, was dedicated to St. Giles.
