BICKINGTON, a parish in the hundred of TEIGNBRIDGE,
county of DEVON, 3 miles (N. E.) from Ashburton,
containing 301 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Ashburton, in
the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of
Exeter. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
A fair for cattle is held on May 14th. There
are two small endowed schools.
