BICKNOLLER, a parish in the hundred of WILLITON-and-FREEMANNERS, county of SOMERSET, 13 miles (W.byN.) from Bridg-water, containing 251 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Wells. Two fortifications, named Trendle Castle and Turk's Castle, together with the ruins of a beacon, occupy the summit of an eminence near the village; and a variety of Roman coins has been found in the vicinity.
