BILLINGHAY, a parish in the first division of the wapentake of LANGOE, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN, 9 miles (N.E.) from Sleuford, containing, with the chapelry of Walcott, and the township of Dogdyke, 1554 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 13. 14., and in the patronage of Earl Fitzwilliam. The church is dedicated to St. Michael. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
