BIRDBROOK, a parish in the hundred of HINCKFORD,
county of ESSEX, 7 miles (N.W.) from Castle-
Hedingham, containing 460 inhabitants. The living is
a .rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese
of London, rated in the king's books at £19, and
in the patronage of Sir W. Rush. The church is dedicated
to St. Augustine.
