BISHTON, a parish in the lower division of the
hundred of CALDICOTT, county of MONMOUTH, 4 miles
(S.B. by E.) from Caerleon, containing 153 inhabitants.
The -living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Llandaff, endowed with £1000 royal
bounty, and in the patronage of the Archdeacon of Llandaff.
The church is dedicated to St. Cadwallader.
