BLADON, a parish in the hundred of WOOTTON, county of OXFORD, 2 miles (S.) from Woodstock, containing, with the hamlet of Kensington, 510 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with the chapelry of New Woodstock annexed, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £16. 0. 5., and in the patronage of the Duke of Marlborough. The church is dedicated to St. Martin. There is a small endowment for the education of poor children.
