BLENCOW (LITTLE), a township in the parish of GREYSTOCK, LEATH ward, county of CUMBERLAND, 4 miles (W. N.W.) from Penrith, containing 53 inhabitants. Near an ancient house, once the residence of the family of Blencow, but now occupied by a farmer, are some dispersed ruins of buildings, particularly those pf a chapel, with a burial-ground adjoining; and not far distant, near the road, there is an enclosed cemetery, in which stands a stone cross, with the arms of the family of Blencow engraved on it.
