BLYTON, a parish in the wapentake of CORRINGHAM, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (N. E.) from Gainsborough, containing, with Wharton, 504 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 12, and in the patronage of the Earl of Scarborough. The church is dedicated to St. Martin. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
