BODDINGTON (LOWER-and-UPPER), a parish in the hundred of CHIPPING-WARDEN, county of NORTHAMPTON, 9 miles (S. W. by S.) from Daventry, containing 634 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £20, and in the patronage of Thomas Golightly, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Richard Lamprey, in 1758, gave a tenement for a school-house, and the interest on £300, being the amount of different benefac-, tions, is paid to a schoolmaster for instructing sixteen poor children.
