BOWDEN (LITTLE), a parish in the hundred of ROTHWELL, county of NORTHAMPTON, half of a mile (E.S.E.) from Market-Harborough, containing, with the hamlet of Little Oxenden, 314 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton,, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £15. 4. 2., and in the patronage of the Rev. John Barlow. The parochial school has a small endowment.
