BRINGHURST, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE, county of LEICESTER, comprising the chapelry of Great Easton, and the townships of Bringhurst and Drayton, and containing 735 inhabitants, of which number, 102 are in'the township of Bringhurst, 2 miles (W. by N.) from Rockingham. The-living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £11.15., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Peterborough. The church is dedicated to St.'Nidholas.
