BROADMAYNE, a parish in the hundred of
GEORGE, but locally in that of Culliford-Tree, Dorchester
division of the county of DORSET, 3 miles (S. E.
by S.) from Dorchester, containing 277 inhabitants.
The. living is a rectory, with .that of West Knighton annexed,
in the archdeaconry of Dorset, and diocese of
Bristol, rated in the king's books at £15. 4. 2., and in
the patronage of D. Urquhart, Esq. .The church is
dedicated to St, Martin.
