BROCKLEY, a parish in the hundred of THINGOE, county of SUFFOLK, 6 miles (S. S. W.) from Bury St, Edmund's, containing 276 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £10. 4. 2., and in the patronage of the Rev. J. D. Sprigge. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew. Thomas Sparke, in 1721, bequeathed a rent-charge of £6 for the education of children.
