BROOKLAND, a parish in the hundred of ALOESBRIDGE, lathe of SHEPWAY, county of KENT, 5 miles (W. by N.) from New Romney, containing 487 inhabitants. The living is, a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Canterbury, rated in the king's books; at £ 17. 12. 8., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury. The churph, dedicated to St. Augustine, is principally in the early style of English architecture.
