BROOME, a parish in the hundred of LODDON,
county of NORFOLK, 2 miles (N.N.E.) from Bungay,
containing 470 inhabitants. The living is a discharged
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of
Norwich, rated in the king's books at £6. 13. 4., and in
the patronage of the Rev. N. Colville,, D.D. The church
is dedicated to St. Michael: here was anciently a chapel,
dedicated to St. Botolph.
