BROOMHILL, a hamlet, and member of the town and port of NEW-ROMNEY, in the liberty of ROMNEY-MARSH, lathes of SHEPWAY., county of KENT, 3, miles (E. by S.) from Rye, containing 56 inhabitants. It was anciently a parish, at which period a portion of it was within the liberty of Old Winchelsea: the church, which stood within the limits of the county of Sussex; has long since been destroyed.
