BROOMHOPE, a township, joint with Buteland,
in the parish of BIRTLEY, north-eastern division of
TINDALE ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 3 miles
(E.) from Bellingham. The population is returned with
Birtley and Chollerton, with the former of which this
township is connected in all ecclesiastical affairs, and
with the latter as regards civil matters.
