BROUGHTON (NETHER), a parish in the hundred of FRAMLAND, county of LEICESTER, 5 miles (N.W.) from Melton-Mowbray, containing 435 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £ 11.5.7v and in the patronage of the Earl of Radnor and the Hon. Francis Bowater, alternately. The church is .dedicated to St. Mary.
