BROUGHTON-BRANT, a parish in the wapentake of LOVEDEN, parts of KESTEVEN, county of LINCOLN;, 8 miles (E.) from Newark, containing 596 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £35. 13. 4., and in the patronage of Sir R. Sutton, Bart The church is dedicated to St. Helen. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. Mr. Pickering, in 1604, gave £50, the produce of which is applied to the instruction of children.
