BUCKLAND (WEST), a parish in the western division
of the hundred of KINGSBURY, locally in that of
Taunton and Taunton-Dean, county of SOMERSET, 2f
miles (E.) from Wellington, containing 750 inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage
of Wellington, in the archdeaconry of Taunton, and
diocese of Bath and Wells. The church, dedicated to
St. Mary, is partly in the Norman style of architecture,
with later additions.
