BUGBROOKE, a parish in the hundred of NOBOTTLE-GROVE, county of NORTHAMPTON, 5 miles (W.S.W.) from Northampton, containing 835 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at'£ 34, and in the patronage of the Rev. H. B. Harrison, &. D. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, exhibits -various styles of English architecture, and contains a fine wooden screen, and.an, octagonal font highly ert-> riched. There is a place of worship for Particular Baptists, The Grand Junction canal passes through this parish, which.is bounded on the west by the Roman Watling-street. Every inhabitant pays foUrpence annually to the duchy court of Lancaster, which is held at West Haddon.
