BURGH-upon-BAINE, a parish in the eastern
division of the wapentake of WRAGGOE, parts of LINDSEY,
county of LINCOLN, 7 miles (W.) from Louth, containing,
with the hamlet of Grisby, 128 inhabitants.
The living is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £7. 10. 10., endowed
with £ 1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage
of George Lister. Esq. The church is dedicated to St.
Helen.
