BURGH-WALLIS, a parish in the upper division
of the wapentake of OSGOLDCROSS, West riding of the
county of YORK, 7 miles (N. N.W.) from Doncaster,
containing, with Haywood and Button, 237 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of York, rated in the king's books at £14. 6.10., and
in the patronage of M. Tasburgh, Esq. The church is
dedicated to St. Helen.
