BURTON-LATIMER, a parish in the hundred of
HUXLOE, county of NORTHAMPTON, 3 miles (S. E.)
from Kettering, containing 842 inhabitants. The living,
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and
diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at
£29. 10., and in the patronage of the Rev.T. Grimshaw.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary. A silk-manufactory
on an extensive scale has of late years been established
in this parish. Here is a free school with a considerable
endowment.
