BURWARDSLEY, a chapelry in that part of the parish of BUNBURY which is in the higher division of the hundred of BROXTON, county palatine of CHESTER, of miles (S. S. W.) from Tarporley, containing 272 inhabitants.' The living is a perpetual curacy, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, endowed with £ 1000 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Trustees. The chapel, dedicated to St; John, was built on the waste by subscription, and consecrated in 1735.
