CASSOP, a township in the parish of KELLOE,
southern division of EASINGTON ward, county palatine
of DURHAM, 4 miles (S. E. by E.) from Durham, containing
78 inhabitants. The village stands on part of
a range of hills that abound with limestone, commanding
an extensive prospect of a variegated tract in the northwestern
direction.
