CHARLTON (SOUTH), a township in the parish of
ELLINGHAM, southern division of BAMBROUGH ward,
county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 5 miles (N. by W.)
from Alnwick, containing 170 inhabitants. Here was
formerly a chapel, but at present there are no remains.
