CHESTERHOPE, a hamlet in the parish of CORSENSIDE,
north-eastern division of TINDALB ward,
county of NORTHUMBERLAND, 5 miles (B. N. E.) from
Bellingham. The population is returned with the parish;
Stones bearing Latin inscriptions have been found here,
which are supposed to be relics of the Roman station
at the adjoining village of Risingham.
